The best stories start with: "So, there I was" So, there I was on tour with Ted Nugent... Wait... I guess I'd better back up a bit.

That summer we did or so of his closest friends (and every pot growing hippie shows up at the shows there, it IS northern california in the woods after all). in fact the saloon itself becomes the "backstage area" for these shows. And yes, this move to the great outdoors includes setting up a large outside concert stage.
So, after working all day to get ready, I ate dinner backstage, and about 10 minutes before we are due to go on, I start to walk thru the audience to the front of house where my lighting consoles are. I see this tall attractive lady eye me as I walk past where she and a few others are sitting in lawn chairs waiting for the show. As I get to the consoles, it turns out she has been following me. Without a word, she throws her arms around me, and kisses me full on the mouth with tongue like we have been invoved for years. After almost a full minute or so of kissing she takes a breath and says "It's SOOO Nice to finally meet you."
Now, I'm not in bad shape, and women often think I'm "not ugly", but it's pretty rare for me to get THAT kind of hello, so, iI had to ask... "Well, who am I?", to which she replied "Why... you are Ted... Of course!" Now, I could have denied it, but it's often better to let people come to their own conclusions... So I asked... "If I'm Ted, and it's 5 minutes before I go onstage, how am I going to get from HERE thru that mob to THERE?", she paused for about 5 full seconds and said... "OH MY GOD!" then as she paused for another full 2 seconds her arms fell away from around my shoulders... "MY HUSBAND IS GOING TO KILL ME!!!". It's true! She had used her "anything goes pass" on me instead of Ted.

We took pity on her and her husband and made sure that they got to meet Ted after the show, but the whole crew had a good laugh about it.
